Artist: Galina Todorova

About Galina Todorova: Galina Todorova works as an artist in Bulgaria where she was born and received her formal training. Her sensitive pencil and ink portraits and figures reflect the humanness of her subjects and confirm art as a bridge for understanding among all cultures.

“Human faces and figures attract me always - mostly because they show inner life – thoughts, feelings and perceptions. Every interaction with someone else is so meaningful and happens once in a life time.”

Living in the USA for six years from 2004 to 2010, Galina Todorova actively participated in the Saint Louis artist community while working at the Saint Louis Art Museum as a gallery attendant and earning her USA citizenship. In 2009, she received an outstanding artist award from the Saint Louis Artist’s Guild for her entry in the ‘Portraits Around the World’ exhibit. Most drawings in this display were completed in Bulgaria during the ‘cold war’ years of her youth, between 1985 and 1999. (Artist's website)
